The word is out.
I have left The Fort Worth Star-Telegram after 29 years, including 27 covering the Dallas Cowboys to be a part of a new exciting venture with ALLCITY Network’s DLLS.
This was not an easy decision because of the love I have for Fort Worth and the Star-Telegram. And I don’t do change easily.
Interestingly enough, when I ultimately made the decision to move during Cowboys training camp, I attended church on a Sunday off day. And the scripture the pastor spoke from was Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Now, I wasn’t lost in the wilderness in Babylon at the Star-Telegram
But this move was about my hope for a prosperous future in this ever changing world of journalism.
That tears immediately streamed down my face was certain evidence to me of the weight the decision was having on me and that I was making the choice.
At DLLS, I will remain the longest tenured reporter embedded with the Cowboys on a daily basis. The scoops and the exclusives are going nowhere. But my coverage will also be supplemented in fun and exciting new ways, with year-round daily podcasts and with voice and views of the fan in mind.
Let’s embark on this journey together.
I’m no longer Mr. Fort Worth. I’m Mr. Dallas-Fort Worth, as ALLCITY DLLS is my new home.
