DLLS Texas Rangers Podcast: Bats come alive as Nathan Eovaldi hits key plateau

September 19, 2024

Lordy, lordy, look who scored 13. That doesn’t quite have same ring to it, but the Texas Rangers opened their three-game series against the Toronto Blue Jays with a 13-8 victory on a night when Nathan Eovaldi didn’t have his best stuff. Wyatt Langford had some good stuff at the plate, and so did Jonah Heim and Adolis Garcia. Eovaldi hung around long enough to meet the 300-inning plateau the past two seasons to trigger a $20 million player option for 2025 that he is expected to decline in favor of free agency. That doesn’t mean the Rangers won’t attempt to re-sign him. They will, and he might be their No. 1 offseason priority.
