The Oakland A’s edged the Texas Rangers 3-2 in the final game at Oakland Coliseum before the A’s pack up and relocate. The crowd acquitted itself well, staying in the stands and not making a mockery of their last chance to host an MLB game. Kumar Rocker did OK, too, allowing three runs on seven hits in 4 2/3 innings as he threw more strikes than he did last week. He was relieved by former Vanderbilt teammate Jack Leiter, who also pitched well but won’t get a start in the final series of the season at Anaheim.
