The Dallas Cowboys are trending toward playing a fourth straight game without star pass rusher Micah Parsons, who has been sidelined with a high ankle sprain.
Parsons has yet to return to practice and continues to rehab with athletic trainer Britt Brown.
“He’s here. He’s in the meetings,” coach Mike McCarthy said. “Until they clear the return-to-play with Britt (Brown), I really don’t even entertain that thought. So he’s not quite there yet.”
Parsons suffered the injury in the 20-15 win against the New York Giants Sept. 26. He then missed games against the Pittsburgh Steelers and Detroit Lions.
The Cowboys had hoped he would return against the San Francisco 49ers last Sunday after the bye.
Now it looks like he will be out again against the Falcons in what is a must-win matchup for a 3-4 Cowboys team riding a two-game losing streak.
Hopes of cornerback DaRon Bland returning against the Falcons from a sprained foot that has sidelined him for the first seven games of the season remain iffy as well.
Bland was activated from the injured reserve list on Wednesday. But he has yet to fully return to practice.
