“QB-Proof” CeeDee Lamb will miss Dallas Cowboys final two games with shoulder injury

The Dallas Cowboys announced that wide receiver CeeDee Lamb will be sidelined for the final two games of the season with a shoulder injury.

Lamb originally hurt his shoulder in the 27-21 loss to the Atlanta Falcons on November 3.

But he continued playing through it, although he was often limited in practice and in games.

Per a statement from the Cowboys, tests showed that Lamb’s injury had gotten worse, forcing them to rule him out for Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles and the season final against the Washington Commanders.

The statement added that Lamb “will undergo a process of treatment and rehabilitation for his shoulder, is not currently expected to require surgery and is projected to make a full recovery.”

The Cowboys (7-8) have already been eliminated from the playoffs.

There is reason to believe that if something was on the line Lamb would continue to tough it out as he has done the past few weeks.

As despite his injury, Lamb’s production has been a strong as any in the league. He has 101 catches for 1,194 yards and six touchdowns in 15 games.

It is his third season with at least 100 catches. He is just the third player in NFL history with 100-plus receptions in three of his first five seasons, joining Michael Thomas and Brandon Marshall.

He also became the first player in Cowboys history to record 1,000 receiving yards in four of his first five seasons.

And he has played the last eight games without franchise quarterback Dak Prescott who suffered a season-ending torn hamstring against the Falcons.

Lamb offered a glimpse into what he has had to deal with after last Sunday’s 26-24 victory against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers when he recorded 7 receptions for 105 yards while re-aggravating the injury.

“My shoulder is outta whack, I’m not gonna even lie to you. I’m just out there battling and doing what I do. It’s not fun,” Lamb said. “I love this game that much. I’m literally willing to put my body out there on the line for my guys.”

Lamb has nothing to prove anyone.

Lamb has more than lived up to the investment the Cowboys made in before the season when they signed him to a four-year, $136 million extension in August.

But more importantly, he is shown the NFL that remains one of the league’s top receivers, if not the best.

Cowboys edge rusher Micah Parsons called him “QB Proof”.

“He might be the best player that I’ve seen with my own eyes. He is the man,” Parsons said. He just loves the game of football. I don’t think anyone should ever question how much CeeDee brings to the team or his it factor. He’s QB proof. I seen him get 1,000 with Andy Dalton. Get 1,000 with Dak Prescott. Get 1,000 with Cooper Rush.

“You give grace to all these other wide receivers and say, Oh, they’re not producing because they don’t got their quarterback. But CeeDee is showing time and time again he could do it with anybody throwing. He can find a way to get open. He’s competitive. He’s a dog. I just don’t think he’s comparable. That’s why I think he the best.”

It’s the continuation of an injury-played season for the Cowboys.

In addition to Dak Prescott and Lamb, Pro Bowl guard Zack Martin, defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence, cornerback Trevon Diggs and linebacker DeMarvion Overshown are other starters who have been sidelined for the season injuries.
