

Things did not go according to plan Monday night for Texas Rangers rookie right-hander Kumar Rocker, who allowed six runs in the first two innings of his 2025 debut. Rocker struggled with his fastball command, which was the No. 1 issue. John Rhadigan and I wondered if Rocker is still playing catch-up after a rough spring and if he should have started at Triple A Round Rock. Elly de la Cruz, in his first game using a torpedo, terrorized Rocker. Are Rangers hitters pursuing the torpedo bat? Take a deep breath, though, because Nathan Eovaldi was scheduled to start Tuesday for the Rangers.
