The Texas Rangers beat the Angels on Tuesday night thanks in large part to six scoreless innings tossed by right-hander Tyler Mahle, who is among baseball’s leaders in several key statistical categories. The offense made him a winner as Leody Taveras beat out a bunt, stole second, went to third on an error and scored on Marcus Semien‘s sacrifice fly. The offense needs to do whatever it can, including small ball, until the struggling hitters heat up. The Rangers turned to Patrick Corbin on Wednesday for perhaps the last time before Jack Leiter is eligible to come off the injured list.
