The final play of the Texas Rangers‘ 3-2 walk-off loss was, well, something out of a little-league game. Luke Jackson and Jake Burger each made throwing errors on a ball that traveled about 60 feet, but it ended up as the winning play as Helio Ramos never stopped running. Jack Leiter walked four, including forcing in one run, in his return from the injured list. The issue, though, is that the Rangers again failed to mount much offense after scoring twice in the first inning. They wasted a leadoff triple in the sixth inning by Joc Pederson, as Adolis Garcia struck out on three pitches out of the strike zone. Marcus Semien, who drove in the two first-inning runs, grounded out, and Nick Ahmed popped out. That was just the latest example of futility that has many calling for the dismissal of offensive coordinator Donnie Ecker.
