The Texas Rangers‘ beleaguered offense pounded out 18 hits during a 15-2 victory Tuesday night over the A’s, and for a night, all was right with the lineup. The struggling hitters, like Adolis Garcia and Marcus Semien, had nice games, but so did everyone else. Every starter collected at least one hit, and eight of them drove in at least one run. The Rangers scored eight times in the sixth inning, which prompted the Rangers to yank Jacob deGrom after six masterful, scoreless innings. The right-hander said afterward that he found the missing mechanical fix, so watch out, baseball. But offensive momentum is only as good as the next day’s starting pitcher, and A’s right-hander Luis Severino would have something to say if the lineup could repeat its performance. (Spoiler alert: It couldn’t.)
