A huge weekend for the Jung family turned into a key weekend for the Texas Rangers, who on Sunday beat the Tigers 6-1 for their first series win in nearly a month. Marcus Semien, Josh Jung and Jonah Heim homered for the Rangers, but Jung’s two-run shot was meaningful on a personal level. He was playing head-to-head against younger brother Jace, and their parents were in the stands. Sunday was Mother’s Day, and what better gift for Mom than a two-run homer from one of her sons? Nathan Eovaldi made the run support stand up over seven scoreless innings. The Rangers came home Sunday night for a seven-game homestand that begins Monday against the hapless Rockies.
