The Texas Rangers headed to New York on Sunday night, enjoyed a day off Monday, and were ready to face a vaunted Yankees lineup starting Tuesday. The Rangers, though, are bringing the best pitching staff in club history, at least through 48 games, to try to contain Aaron Judge and Co. First up is left-hander Patrick Corbin, who continues to defy all expectations, and he will be followed by Jacob deGrom and Nathan Eovaldi on Wednesday and Thursday. The series will also feature brothers Bret and Aaron Boone being reunited on a major-league field for the first time since 2005. Bret Boone is the Rangers’ new hitting coach, and the offense has been better. Aaron Boone is the Yankees’ manager.
