The Texas Rangers entered their three-game series against the Kansas City Royals with lots of momentum, having won four straight games. The Royals had lost six in a row, so it felt like the Rangers had a chance to keep charging forward. Instead, the Royals swept the Rangers, capping the sweep Thursday with a 4-1 win. The Rangers’ offense had a listless performance against Michael Wacha, and the Royals hit four home runs. Two were by rookie Jac Caglianone, the first two of his career. The first was against Jacob Latz, who was terrific over 5 2/3 innings in a bullpen game. He might have earned himself a start the next time through the rotation.
