The Texas Rangers posted a listless offensive performance Monday night in the opener of a three-game series at Baltimore, mustering only three hits in a 6-0 loss. Patrick Corbin allowed five of the runs, and Jackson Holliday had his number. Conversely, left-hander Trevor Rogers looked like a Cy Young winner in tossing eight scoreless innings. Yet, manager Bruce Bochy said that he thinks the Rangers are on the verge of a breakthrough. They will try to win a fourth straight road series with Jacob Latz making the start Tuesday after an impressive 5 2/3 scoreless innings last week vs. the Royals.
