The Texas Rangers completed a terrific homestand Sunday by defeating the Atlanta Braves 8-1 for a sixth straight win. The Rangers’ record on the homestand? Why, 8-1. Anyhoo, the success to start the second half of the season has buoyed the Rangers into a tie for the third wild-card spot and leaves no doubt that the team will be buying at the trade deadline. What will they be buying? Bullpen help is No. 1 on the agenda. The Rangers will likely not add to the rotation, a decision buoyed Sunday by a quality start from Jack Leiter. He flirted with giving away an early lead with a sloppy second inning, but he settled down and posted four zeroes to conclude his outing. Josh Smith had the biggest day at the plate, including a two-run homer, but the biggest hit was Wyatt Langford’s two-out, three-run double in the first inning.
