The Texas Rangers trailed by five runs Monday night in the sixth inning. Their starter, the amazing Nathan Eovaldi, had given up five runs, and Jon Gray issued another. But the Rangers scored four times in their half of the sixth, three on Wyatt Langford’s first homer in a month, and the Rangers’ bullpen held on until Rowdy Tellez tied it in the ninth with pinch-hit homer and Jake Burger won it, 7-6, in the 10th with a single off the left-field wall. It’s the kind of win that can jump-start a team, but we’ve said that many times this season. It’s up to the team to follow through at a critical juncture in the season. It was a nice rebound from the sweep against the Phillies, and a series win over the Diamondbacks would cure a lot of ills. As for Eovaldi, don’t worry about him.
