The Dallas Cowboys will be without cornerback DaRon Bland for at least the next two weeks after he suffered a right foot injury in practice on Monday, sources told DLLS.
It’s an unfortunate setback for the All-Pro defender, who missed the first 10 games of the 2024 season with a stress fracture in his left foot.
Bland’s absence comes at a tough time for a secondary already easing Trevon Diggs back into action. Diggs, returning from his own major injury, was limited to just 27 snaps in last week’s matchup against the Eagles.
The Cowboys will now have to lean on their depth at corner, with younger players and rotational pieces, including names like Kaiir Elam, Reddy Steward, and the possibility of elevating training camp standout Zion Childress for depth and larger roles until Bland is able to return.
Prior to the start of the season, Bland, who set an NFL record with five pick sixes in 2023, signed a a four-year, $92 million extension with $50 million guaranteed.
