While still basking in the glow of Sunday’s 44-22 victory against the Washington Commanders Monday, the Dallas Cowboys got more good news when linebacker DeMarvion Overshown posted on his X account that the team plans to begin his return from injured reserve.

Overshown, who has been out since last season rehabbing from knee surgery that sidelined him for the last four games of 2024, posted “T-21”, indicating the team was activating his 21-day return to play window.

The Cowboys expect to formerly make the move on Wednesday, giving them until Nov. 12 to officially move him to the active roster, just ahead of the Nov. 17 game at the Las Vegas Raiders.

Vice president Stephen Jones confirmed the return-to-play plan on his radio show on 105.3 The Fan on Monday.

“He is so fired up,” Jones said of Overshown. “He’ll start to work back in. … He’s been itching at the bit to get back, but we wanted to make sure that after coming back from two injuries, unfortunately, that he was 100 percent and ready to go. He’s gonna have to have that ramp up period where he’s gotta get in football shape.

“He didn’t get any work in the offseason or training camp, so obviously there’s work to do there. It’ll probably take the fully allotted three weeks for him to get prepared, but hopefully after that bye, he’ll be ready to play football.”

Overshown is not the only defender sidelined since the beginning of the season that is gearing up for a return.

Cornerback Shavon Revel, a third-round pick from East Carolina, said he should be ready to go on Wednesday as well.

Revel suffered a torn ACL in college. He missed all of training camp and was played on the non football injury list to start the season.

He said he is healthy and feeling good. He anticipates his 21-day return to play window being activated on Wednesday, putting him the same after the bye return as Overshown.

Stephen Jones added that receiver Jonathan Mingo is expected to move to the active roster this week.

He also has been out since the start of the season. His return-to-play window expires on Tuesday.

“We’ll activate [Mingo], for sure,” Jones said. “So he’ll be moving up and on the roster, and competing to get snaps. That receiving room has gotten pretty spicy, so he’s gonna have to get in there. He’s got an element to his game that we don’t have — rare size and speed, and he’s a physical player, and he’ll be one to get on the field.”
