Cowboys place CB Trevon Diggs on injured reserve

The Dallas Cowboys announced on Saturday that they have placed starting cornerback Trevon Diggs on injured reserve.

Diggs suffered a concussion in his home earlier this month, on October 16, just days before the team’s Week 7 matchup at home against the Washington Commanders, a game in which he was ruled out for immediately after the news broke.

The veteran corner has since remained in concussion protocol and will now miss at least the next four games, and will be eligible to return to action for the Cowboys’ Thanksgiving Day matchup on November 27 vs. the Kansas City Chiefs.

The former 2020 second-round pick has appeared in six games this season and has recorded 18 tackles.

Diggs can still be traded before the November 4 deadline. The near return of rookie third-round pick Shavon Revel makes him expendable.

Injuries have played a big role in the Pro Bowler’s career. Over the past two seasons, Diggs has missed 21 games due to knee injuries, including a torn ACL suffered in September of 2023 that caused him to miss the remaining 15 games that year, and later missed six games in 2024 and had a chondral bone graft surgery on the same knee in January of 2025.

Diggs has had quite the run in 2025. Earlier this year, he was fined before the season for not participating in the offseason program and verbally disputed the front office during a training camp interview.

Dallas can designate Diggs as a notable post June 1 release in the 2026 offseason, a move that can save the team $15.5 million in cap.
