After already making a trade earlier today, the Dallas Cowboys have now made a major move ahead of the Tuesday NFL trade deadline, acquiring three-time Pro Bowl defensive lineman Quinnen Williams from the New York Jets.
In exchange, the Jets will receive a 2026 2nd-round pick, the better of Dallas’ two 2027 first-round picks, and DT Mazi Smith, giving them assets as they look toward the future with the season at 1-7 and out of reach in New York.
Williams, 27, was selected third overall in the 2019 NFL Draft out of Alabama and quickly developed into one of the league’s premier interior defenders.
Williams has been a consistent force up front for New York, totaling 40 career sacks, 141 pressures, 59 tackles for loss, and 101 quarterback hits since entering the league.
He signed a four-year, $96 million extension with the Jets in 2023 but will now take his talents to Dallas, where the Cowboys’ defense has struggled to find consistency this season.
The trade marks the second of the day for Dallas, who acquired Bengals linebacker Logan Wilson earlier today.
