The Texas Rangers didn’t waste any time this offseason in making a change at manager, parting ways with Bruce Bochy the day after the season and signing Skip Schumaker four days later. He is helping lead the Rangers through the offseason with the style of baseball he hopes to play. Schumaker is putting the finishing touches on his coaching staff and is also reaching out to players to start creating the relationships he needs to establish the right clubhouse chemistry. The annual GM meetings get underway Tuesday in Las Vegas. Don’t expect any deals to be finalized, but the expectation is that the Rangers will begin conversations that will lead to deals later in the offseason.
