Coming Friday is the non-tender deadline, when baseball teams decide which of their arbitration-eligible players they will give contracts in 2026. Those who aren’t tendered contracts will become free agents. The Texas Rangers are very likely to non-tender two 2023 heroes. The writing has been on the wall for some time regarding the futures of Adolis Garcia and Jonah Heim, and the expectation is that they will be gone after Friday’s deadline. Josh Jung, Jake Burger, Josh Smith, Ezequiel Duran, Josh Sborz and Jacob Webb are also arbitration-eligible. Of that group, Duran, Sborz and Webb are the most likely to be non-tendered. The Friday deadline follows Tuesday’s deadline to set the 40-man roster. Which prospects did the Rangers protect from the Rule 5 draft?
