The Texas Rangers are reuniting with left-hander Jordan Montgomery as they add more depth for the starting rotation. They ran out of it early last season, with injuries to Jon Gray and Cody Bradford in spring training. That forced Jack Leiter and Kumar Rocker into the rotation, which worked out on Leiter. Another silver lining was the emergence of Jacob Latz, who is competing with Rocker for the fifth starter until Bradford is ready. Speaking of Rocker, he’s dialed after learning much in 2025. Montgomery won’t be ready until June. He is likely to be needed. That’s the biggest news of camp so far, but there are a lot of nuggets to catch up on after the offseason.
