The Dallas Stars biggest order of business this summer will be signing restricted free agent Jason Robertson to a new contract. Robertson was the Stars’ leading scorer in the 2025-26 regular season (96 points) and was tied for the team-lead in goals (45) with Wyatt Johnston. Plus, he led the team in playoff goals (5) and was second in points (8). He is coming off a four-year contract that had an AAV of $7.75M and he is due for a healthy raise – his qualifying offer is set for $9.3M. The question is, with limited salary cap space, how do the Stars fit a long-term contract extension for Robertson AND fill out the rest of their roster with four other UFA forwards (Jamie Benn, Michael Bunting, Adam Erne & Nathan Bastian) and two other RFA forwards (Mavrik Bourque & Arttu Hyry).
