DLLS Texas Rangers Podcast: Author Tim Brown discusses his new book on Nolan Ryan

When Tim Brown started the research for his latest book, telling a retirement home community in Alvin, Texas, that he was writing a book on Texas Rangers legend Nolan Ryan, a resident said, “Another one.” Nolan: The Singular Life of an American Original is not just another Ryan biography. It’s a unique telling of Ryan’s story, beyond the baseball and, at the heart, how one of baseball’s best pitchers exemplified what it means to be a Texan. Brown joined the show to discuss his book, which hit bookstores May 19. Coincidentally, Ryan’s last two teams, the Rangers and Astros, just played over the weekend, and Houston won two of the three games as the Rangers’ offensive shortcomings were front and center in the first two games.
