The Stanley Cup has been awarded and the 2026 NHL Entry Draft is just over one week away. Several offseason trades have happened in the last few days, Vegas and Toronto announced new head coaches, Utah and Washington announced contract extensions for their head coaches and the Golden Knights (sort of) allowed a team to speak to Bruce Cassidy. And the NHL just wrapped up its investigation into Mike Babcock, clearing him to return to coaching if a team wants to hire him (cough…Edmonton…cough). However, it’s been fully quiet on the Dallas Stars front, with the only recent news, which was quite big, involved the team’s future arena plans moving out of downtown Dallas and north to Plano. On today’s show, we will talk through the Holding Pattern of the Stars offseason moves and all the things going on around the NHL. And perhaps, maybe, today is the day we finally discuss the NHL’s new ALL-Star game format – which has been bumped from at least three shows in the last week.
