Fresh off his best game of the season. the numbers say Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle Quinnen Williams is coming.
Williams recorded a sack and tied a single game career high with three tackles for loss in Monday’s 38-21 victory against the Philadelphia Eagles.
He leads all NFL defensive tackles with nine tackles for loss in 2026 and has recorded at least two tackles for loss in three of his last four games.
Williams has also tallied a sack in three of his last four games
Just like the Cowboys defense, Williams is improving.
But he says he’s not there yet. He’s still not quite himself yet roughly one year after coning to the Cowboys in a mid-season trade with the New York Jets.
“Oh, not yet,” Williams said. “Not yet. At all. I feel like I got some things I need to fix. And just keep going in the right direction. And hopefully soon I have that game that I feel like I’m myself soon.”
Williams has huge expectations of himself and he knows much is expected of him.
The Cowboys got a 2026 second-round pick, a 2027 first-round pick and sent a defensive tackle Mazi Smith to the Jets to complete the trade for Williams.
In August 2026, the Cowboys signed Williams to a massive multi-year extension worth $105.9 million over three years. The deal averages $35.3 million per year with $101 million guaranteed.
The Cowboys were counting on Williams to be the linchpin to a defensive turnaround. He is best player on the unit. He is four time Pro Bowler with his best season coming in 2022 when he had 12 sacks and made All-Pro.
That is the standard Williams holds himself too and when he gets back to that then he will be back to himself.
“I know exactly how it’s supposed to look, how it’s supposed to feel, when they get there,” Williams said. “Right now, just focus on getting better. When that game comes, when that game hit, I can build all that with momentum.”
“I want to achieve that again. I want to be that player again. And I got that ability there. I got the guys around me. And the scheme around me to be there.”
