One thing that is certain about the Dallas Cowboys is that they are are consistent. They are not changing general managers. They are not changing quarterbacks and they are not changing training camp locations.

Sources confirmed that the Cowboys have agreed to a five-year extension with the city of Oxnard, Calif. for training camp to remain on the West Coast.

Their current deal with the Oxnard for camp the city fields next to Residence Inn Hotel was set to expire in 2025. The Cowboys will now stay in Oxnard for camp through 2030 at a cost of $75,000 per year.

The Cowboys make that and more in return on sponsorships, merchandise, marketing and good will from a fan base in Southern California that has supported to team since they began holding training camp in Thousand Oaks in 1963. They were there though 1989. They have been in Oxnard 17 times since 2001, including every year since 2010.

The Cowboys report to camp on July 20 and will break camp on Aug. 14.

The first open practice is set for July 22.

One thing that should excite Cowboys fans heading training camp is that quarterback Dak Prescott will be healthy and ready to go after missing 9 games last season with a hamstring torn off the bone that required season ending surgery.

Prescott told reporters Tuesday at his youth camp the he is healthy as he can be and will have no limitations in camp.

“I’m healthy as I’ll be,” Prescott said. “I’ll be a full go for camp. I’m healthy. I think soon here I’ll probably get an official sign off from doc, but I’m healthy.”
