The Dallas Cowboys’ 31-14 road loss to the Chicago Bears in Week 3 was made worse by a significant injury to star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb.

Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones confirmed on 105.3 The Fan, that Lamb suffered a high ankle sprain.

“We’ve got to evaluate the full thing, see how he’s moving around as the day goes,” Jones said. “Certainly, he’s got a high ankle sprain and every one of those are different. We’d love to have him back for Green Bay, but we also have to understand the injury is what it is.”

The All-Pro WR is expected to be sidelined for the next 3-4 weeks.

Lamb went down in the first quarter after taking a carry out of the backfield, immediately showing discomfort in his ankle. He briefly returned later in the game, but his limp was noticeable. After one short stint back on the field, Lamb walked straight to the sideline, and was eventually ruled out for the rest of the afternoon. As the team played it safe with the star wideout.

“This was one of those protect-me-from-myself type of deals,” Lamb told reporters postgame.

The Cowboys’ offense never looked the same without their top target, mustering just one touchdown as Chicago’s defense controlled the pace. With Lamb sidelined, Dallas struggled to find consistency in the passing game, and the absence of his big-play ability loomed large.
