Dallas Cowboys veteran running back Miles Sanders’ (knee/ankle) season is over.
Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones announced Friday on 105.3 The FAN that Sanders will be placed on season ending injured reserve.
The seventh year back suffered his injury during the Week 4 Sunday night matchup at home vs. the Green Bay Packers.
The former second-round pick appeared in just 65 snaps this season and rushed for 117 yards and a touchdown off 20 carries through the first four games. Sanders did not play in Week 5 vs. the Jets.
Sanders, who spent the first four seasons of his career with the Philadelphia Eagles (2019-2022) and later played for the Carolinas Panthers (2023-2024), signed a one-year deal with the Cowboys in the offseason.
With Sanders out, more opportunities will come for rookie back Jaydon Blue who made his NFL debut in Week 6.
“We’re so fired up about what Jaydon Blue can do for this offense,” Jones said. “He has rare explosiveness. I think he’s going to bring something to the RB position we haven’t had.”
