As the Dallas Cowboys move closer to finalizing their initial 53-man roster for the 2025 NFL season, the team has traded offensive lineman Asim Richards and a 2028 seventh-round pick to the New Orleans Saints, according to ESPN’s NFL Insider Adam Schefter.
In return, the Cowboys will receive a 2028 sixth-round selection.
Richards, 24, was selected by the Cowboys in the fifth round (No. 169 overall) of the 2023 NFL Draft. Across his first two seasons, he appeared in 21 games and made one start.
Dallas has been reshaping its offensive line in recent years, investing heavily through the draft with key pieces such as All-Pro Tyler Smith, 2024 first-rounder Tyler Guyton, and more recently, 2025 first-round pick Tyler Booker.
