As the Dallas Cowboys prepare for Week 16 vs. the Los Angeles Chargers, they will have to do so without starting cornerback DaRon Bland, whose season appears to be over.

Bland is facing the possibility of surgery on his left foot, but will seek a second opinion on if surgery is needed or not, sources confirmed to DLLS.

Regardless of the decision, Bland, who has not practiced this week and came up on the team’s injury report on Wednesday, could end up on injured reserve, which would cause him to miss the remaining three games of the season.

This would mark the second year in a row, in which Bland would be held out due to a foot injury. The Cowboys’ All-Pro corner suffered a stress fracture in his left foot prior to the 2024 season, and landed on IR.

Bland would go on to miss the first 10 games of 2024.

The former 2022 fifth-round draft selection signed a four-year, $92 million extension with $50 million guaranteed just before the start of the 2025 season.

Bland missed Weeks 2 and 3 earlier this year with a foot injury. In 12 games, he’s tallied 45 tackles, six pass breakups and a pick-six during the Cowboys’ 44-32 win over the Washington Commanders back in Week 7.

Dallas, who has been without Trevon Diggs since Week 7, and whose practice window closes on Saturday, would head into Sunday’s game against Los Angeles with Shavon Revel Jr., Caelen Carson, Reddy Steward, Trikweze Bridges, and Corey Ballentine.

Josh Butler had his 21-day practice window opened on Wednesday.

Bland and Diggs, the Cowboys’ two high priced corners, have appeared in just seven games together since 2023.
