The Dallas Stars did not wait until Friday’s NHL trade deadline to bolster their roster. Today, GM Jim Nill acquired towering 6’8” veteran right handed defenseman Tyler Myers from the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for a 2027 2nd round pick and a 2029 4th round pick. In addition, Vancouver will retain 50% of Myers remaining contract, which means he will carry a $1.5M AAV. We will fully break down the trade, discussing how Myers fits on the Stars blueline and what, if any, will be Jim Nill’s next move before Friday’s deadline.
