The Dallas Stars sent shockwaves through the DFW Metroplex on Tuesday when the team announced they have signed a non-binding Letter of Intent and have submitted it to the City of Plano for consideration at the upcoming June 8th Plano City Council meeting. The Stars are proposing a billion-dollar sports and entertainment district at The Shops at Willow Bend mall site. This announcement came one day after the Dallas Mavericks took steps to purchase the former Valley View Mall site for their own potential new arena and entertainment district. Both teams’ current leases with the City of Dallas at American Airlines Center expire in 2031. We will also discuss last night’s Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final, as the Vegas Golden Knights beat the Carolina Hurricanes 5-4 at Lenovo Center in Raleigh. And, if we have time, there are a lot of NHL News & Notes to discuss!
