While guarding Chet Holmgren in the third quarter, Mavericks center Anthony Davis fell to the floor and grabbed his knee.
Even inside Oklahoma City’s Paycom Center, the crowd went quiet. Davis remained down for several seconds before limping to the Dallas bench, where he sat with a large wrap on his knee until returning in the fourth quarter.
Davis didn’t score his first basket (1-of-9 shooting) until the final frame and finished with just two points in the Mavericks’ 132-11 loss to the Thunder.
Oklahoma City entered the night with the NBA’s No. 1 defensive rating at 103.8 — nearly seven points better than second-ranked Houston (110.3).
The loss ended Dallas’ three-game winning streak. The Mavericks will look to bounce back against the Houston Rockets.
