Cooper Flagg has started at point guard for the Dallas Mavericks since returning from an eight-game absence and has struggled on offense.
Flagg went 7-for-17 from the field in a 122-92loss to the Toronto Raptors at Scotiabank Arena on Sunday evening.
The rookie scored three baskets in the fourth quarter with the team trailing by more than 20 points and finished with 17 points, eight rebounds and six assists. Flagg also added three blocks and two steals. His defensive playmaking has been a bright spot for the team this season.
Flagg is now 21-of-62 (34 percent) from the field since returning from a left midfoot sprain that cost him a chance to participate in his first All-Star Weekend. It also may have cost him an opportunity to win Rookie of the Year, with Hornets guard Ron Knueppel having one of the best offensive rookie seasons of all time.
