Three weeks ago, they were 3-5-1 and staring at an early offseason.

Now three weeks later, they are 6-5-1 and all the momentum is on their side, as the Dallas Cowboys defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 31-28 on a day to be thankful.

The offense made the big plays, Dak Prescott continued his strong play, CeeDee Lamb bounced back, George Pickens had another solid showing, and the defense made just enough plays in the playoff push victory.

Up next for Dallas, will be a Thursday night battle at Ford Field, against the Detroit Lions who lost their Thanksgiving matchup 31-24 to the Green Bay Packers.

Make it three in a row for the Cowboys, who defeated the Chiefs 31-28, and each one just gets better than the last.

Ok the last one may have been more special coming back from 21-0, but for this Thanksgiving battle, Patrick Mahomes was on the other side, so I guess it evens out.

CeeDee Lamb said he would catch the f*ing ball and did just that on a 15-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter and finished the game as Dallas’ leading receiver with 112 yards and a score.

George Pickens added six receptions for 88 yards.

Quarterback Dak Prescott, after an early interception on just the third play of the game, finished the game throwing for 320 yards and two touchdowns and led six scoring drives, three touchdowns and three field goals.

The defense, got to Mahomes three times, including a pair of sacks from veteran defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, and held the Chiefs offense to 5-of-13 on third downs.

From 3-5-1 to now 6-5-1, that’s where the Cowboys are after Thursday’s 31-28 victory against the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Cowboys have now won three straight games for the first time since 2023 when they won five straight en route to a 12-5 season.

The Cowboys are firmly back in the playoff picture and it is not out of the realm of possibility they could run the table the rest of the way or at least suffer just one loss.

That is not dreaming that the reality of this Cowboys team led by quarterback Dak Prescott and revamped defense simply outclassed Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas Chiefs at AT&T Stadium on Thanksgiving Day.

Prescott was the best quarterback on the field. throwing for 320 yards and two touchdowns. And the Cowboys defense simply shut down Mahomes and the Chiefs after giving up two early touchdowns.

What the Cowboys have done the past two weeks in victories over the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles and Super Bowl runner up Kansas City has been their most impressive two-game run in years if not a decade.

A win at the Detroit Lions next Thursday would be bonkers and add rocket boosters to what is the makings of a miraculous run to the playoffs.
