Dallas Mavericks center Anthony Davis jumped and floated a shot over Indiana Pacers big man Tony Bradley. The basket went in, but what happened next could alter the Mavericks’ season.
The 6-foot-10 center, who entered the game with bilateral Achilles tendinopathy, appeared to land directly on his left leg after the shot, seemingly aggravating the injury. He tried to run back on defense but didn’t make it all the way down the court.
Davis limped to the scorer’s table and sat for a few moments before Dallas called a timeout with 4:12 remaining in the first quarter. He then headed to the locker room for further evaluation.
While seated at the scorer’s table, Davis appeared to rub his Achilles. He was ruled out at halftime with left lower leg soreness.
But Mavericks guard Brandon Williams, who missed the last two games for personal reasons, scored 20 points to lead Dallas to a 107-105 victory over the Pacers.
