Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey scored 38 points as Philadelphia beat the Dallas Mavericks 121-114 on Saturday at Xfinity Mobile Arena.

The Mavericks (11-18) scored 35 points in the third quarter, led by Cooper Flagg, Naji Marshall and P.J. Washington, who each scored eight points in the period.

Dallas led by as many as six points in the fourth quarter, but the 76ers (16-11) pulled away with a strong finish. Philadelphia played without Joel Embiid and Paul George, but Dominick Barlow scored 21 points and consistently hurt Dallas in the paint.

Sixers rookie guard VJ Edgecombe and Flagg faced each other for the first time in their professional careers. Edgecombe finished with 26 points, while Flagg scored 24.

Anthony Davis added 24 points and 14 rebounds for Dallas, and Marshall finished with 22 points.

Saturday marked the final game Flagg played at 18 years old. He turns 19 on Dec. 21.

The Mavericks will look to bounce back Monday against the New Orleans Pelicans.
