The Dallas Mavericks can’t avoid clutch games no matter how hard they try.
Dallas has played in a league-high 14 clutch games this season, and Saturday’s matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies was no different. But unlike Friday’s win, the Mavericks didn’t come out on top.
Grizzlies guard Cam Spencer hit a series of big fourth-quarter shots that proved too much for Dallas to overcome. The Mavericks lost to Memphis 102-96 on Saturday at the American Airlines Center.
The game featured more than 16 lead changes, with each team holding a lead of at least five points at various moments.
The Mavericks (5–13) still haven’t won back-to-back games this season.
Brandon Williams finished with 18 points and four assists. P.J. Washington added 15 points, eight rebounds and four assists.
Dallas will play its next four games on the road, beginning Monday against the Miami Heat.
