Mavericks guard Cooper Flagg was in legal guarding position with his hands up when Sacramento Kings center Precious Achiuwa drove into him, and the two collided knees.
Flagg, who started at point guard for the second straight game, went down after the contact and grabbed his knee. The 19-year-old briefly went to the bench, was evaluated by Mavericks head athletic trainer Jana Austin and returned wearing a leg sleeve.
Flagg showed no lingering effects, scoring 11 of his 20 points after the collision and grabbing all eight of his rebounds to help Dallas beat Sacramento 100-98 on Sunday night at Golden 1 Center.
Brandon Williams provided key late offense, knocking down a corner 3-pointer and a midrange jumper in the final two minutes to seal the win.
With the victory, the Mavericks (14-23) snapped a seven-game road losing streak and improved to 12-16 in clutch games (28 overall).
Anthony Davis struggled from the field, shooting 7 of 23, but still recorded a double-double with 19 points and 16 rebounds. Williams finished with 18 points, and Naji Marshall added 15 as Dallas defeated the Kings (8-29).
