The Texas Rangers entered Tuesday with the third wild-card spot even though they are 45-45 and dealing with injuries to Corey Seager and Wyatt Langford.

The Texas Rangers have gone 7-3 in their past 10 games, briefly taking over first place in the American League West, and are once again flirting with the playoffs. They hold the third wild-card spot as they enter the final week before the All-Star break. The standings say they are a contender, but what does the eye test say? One national baseball pundit suggested the Rangers should not go for it at the trade deadline, with injuries to Corey Seager and Wyatt Langford again causing problems. That doesn’t even seem to be the plan for president of baseball operations Chris Young.
