Well CY has to take accountability for the Joc signing. Alot of money and proved to be risky given 2024 shortcomings but yeah I get he can’t spend his way out of the problem
I hope the leash is not to long for Joc and they keep him if he continues his slide. But of course as a Ranger fan I hope he rebounds
Lastly the Trades at the ASB IMO were fools gold. Never wanted to get a rental last 2 years

I think part of the payroll reduction is the lack of success of the team. The last couple years. They’ve spent a lot of money and the expectations have not been met. I don’t think it’s right to criticize Ray Davis for not spending money when for the last 2 years he has spent money and has not gotten much for it. I’m sure Ray wants to keep Chris as long as Chris wants to be a baseball executive, but Chris has to have some accountability. A lower payroll may be that accountability. Don’t kill Davis for not spending money, I bet he will if the team’s in contention.

Ray Davis is a billionaire owner. We as fans who pay for things like Victory Plus to watch the Rangers, or tickets, or parking or food, or merchandise have every right to complain.

Chris Young should be judged on his player evaluations and acquisitions.
Owner Davis is the one handcuffing the baseball people — and shortchanging the fans. If the team underperforms again this season and there are more and more empty seats, that’s on you, Ray Davis.

Whether it’s CY’s fault or Ray Davis’ fault, internal improvements plus Joc was last year’s approach. Now we are to trust in the same approach with a new catcher who has career numbers equally as bad as Jonah. Although, Jansen in Milwaukee for 50 games was equally as good as Jonah’s 1st half in ‘23 as an all star.
So I’m thinking same approach, expecting different outcomes makes us what?
I am not buying into the expectation of winning because the FO is not surrounding Seager, Evo, deGrom, Langford with a winning BP, winning 1B (RH bat), or proven catcher for 110 games.
Maybe this team competes for a playoff spot? But it won’t be competing for a WS.
