

Right-hander Jacob deGrom gave the Texas Rangers five innings while dealing with a groin injury, and they were good enough to help topple the Red Sox.
ARLINGTON — In a literal sense, Jacob deGrom has a groin issue at a very inconvenient time for the Texas Rangers, who need their best starting pitcher as many times as they can get him on the mound over the final two weeks of the season.
Figuratively speaking, he has no groin issue at all.
“I’ll give you ‘stones,'” manager Skip Schumaker said.
