Jamie Benn scored with 22.8 seconds left in regulation, his second goal of the night, lifting the Dallas Stars to a 5-4 win over the St. Louis Blues on Wednesday night at American Airlines Center. The Stars extended their currently winning streak to six games and will now enter their three-week Winter Olympic break. Pavel Buchnevich and Jordan Kyrou sandwiched first period goals around Jason Robertson’s 32nd goal of the season as the Blues took a 2-1 lead into the first intermission. Dallas scored three-straight second period goals, from Matt Duchene, Mavrik Bourque and Jamie Benn, to take a 4-2 lead after two periods. Jimmy Snuggerud and Alexey Toropchenko found the next in the third period to bring St. Louis back to level ground at 4-4, setting up Benn’s dramatic game-winning goal in the final minute of play. It’s the third consecutive Stars victory over the Blues thanks to a last-minute game-winner.
