The Dallas Stars raced out to a 4-1 lead after two periods, gave up three third period goals and then beat the Vegas Golden Knights 5-4 in a shootout on Thursday night at T-Mobile Arena. Matt Duchene opened the scoring, extending his current goal-scoring streak to three games. Keegan Kolesar tied it up early in the second period and then Dallas scored the next three to open up a 4-1 lead. Mavrik Bourque tallied the first multi-goal game of his NHL career as he buried two pucks in a 5:30 span. Then Wyatt Johnston scored off his own rebound, finding the net in his 300th career NHL game. The Golden Knights clawed back in the third period, with a Reilly Smith shorthanded goal, an Ivan Barbashev even strength tally and a Mitch Marner 6-on-5 extra attacker goal. After a goalless overtime, Jason Robertson and Mikko Rantanen both scored in the shootout and Jake Oettinger stopped both attempts he faced to give Dallas the win.
