The Vancouver Canucks scored three times in the final minute of the third period and won in overtime, beating the Dallas Stars 6-5 on Tuesday night at American Airlines Center. Mikko Rantanen scored his first home goal as a Star, as Dallas netted three power play goals in the first 28 minutes of the game to open up a 3-0 lead after two periods. (Mason Marchment & Matt Duchene were the other goal scorers). Jake DeBrusk and Victor Mancini each tallied power play goals early in the third period, but then Mavrik Bourque and Mikael Granlund scored 24 seconds apart to build back Dallas’ three-goal advantage. However, Aaty Räty scored with a minute to go and then Pius Suter netted a pair of 6-on-5 extra attacker goals to tie the game and force overtime. After an unsuccessful Canucks 4-on-3 power play in OT, Kiefer Sherwood completed the comeback at 4-on-4.
