President of baseball operations Chris Young said it loud and clear: The Texas Rangers are not rebuilding even though they are planning to spend less and have a younger roster. But they can’t expect better results with the same players, so change is coming. It might start with Adolis Garcia and Jonah Heim after consecutive seasons of offensive decline. What about Marcus Semien and Josh Jung? And Joc Pederson and Jake Burger? New manager Skip Schumaker won’t make the personnel decisions, though he will have a say. Young and the rest of the front office, plus the scouts and analysts, will help come up with an offseason game plan for the 2026 roster.
