The Texas Rangers were a win away from a surprising matinee sweep of the Brewers, the team with the best record in baseball, and they were serving burgers for lunch. Jake Burger launched two home runs, and Merrill Kelly overcame a sluggish start as the Rangers rallied to a 6-3 victory. The bullpen worked 3 1/3 scoreless innings behind Kelly, with Phil Maton closing out the sweep. The Rangers went 5-1 on the homestand and will next head out on a six-game road trip to face the Mets and Astros. Jacob deGrom will work the opener Friday in his first start at Citi Field since he left the Mets after the 2022 season.
