The good news for the Texas Rangers is that the MRI exams on Tyler Mahle and Cody Bradford came back clean. Even more good news is that Mahle is expected to pitch a spring game this week. The news wasn’t quite as good for Bradford, who will be shut down for five days and, as a result, is unlikely to be on the Opening Day roster. That, then, puts into question who will fill in for Bradford in the rotation and if any other dominoes will fall in the shuffle. It should be good news for Jack Leiter, who started for Mahle on Tuesday. The five walks are concerning, but he got out of trouble. Whatever happens on Opening Day, there is plenty of season left for Bradford and the Rangers, who are predicted to win the American League West.
