Game 1 of the 2024 World Series was won by a grand slam by Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman. It came a year after Corey Seager delivered his game-tying ninth-inning blast in Game 1 of the 2023 World Series, a game the Texas Rangers would later win on Adolis Garcia’s walk-off homer. The Dodgers won the first two games of the World Series as the best-of-7 series headed to Yankee Stadium where the Yankees were in a must-win spot for Game 3.
